CJ Buckley Regatta Notice of Race
1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 – 2008 (RRS) including Appendix D, this notice of race, and the sailing instructions.
2. CLASS
Bring your own Club 420s. No Spinnaker or Trapeze shall be used. Mainsheet bridles are allowed.
3. TEAM
Each competing team shall consist of three skippers and three crews.
4. ADVERTISING
The regatta is classified as a Category A Event in accordance with Appendix 1, Regulation 20 – ISAF Advertising Code.
5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
5.1 All competitors on a team shall not turn 19 during the 2008 calendar year.
6. ENTRY FEE
The entry fee for this event is $50 per participant ($100 per boat, $300 per team). A team is not considered registered until all three boats have submitted their entry fee. Cash or Checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to “CJ Buckley Sailing Foundation” and mailed to the address below. The entry fee includes an event T-shirt, lunches each day, BBQ dinner on site Monday after racing, and event trophies.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Available at Skippers Meeting, Monday, August 4, 2008
9. FORMAT
All races will be sailed in Round Robin format. The number of races will be based on the number of participants. Fleet may be divided into Gold/Silver/Bronze fleets on Tuesday.
10. COURSES
Courses will be a digital “N”.
11. SCORING
Scoring will be in accordance with Appendix D, except as modified by the Sailing Instructions.
12. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to teams placing 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd.
13. LIFEJACKETS
All competitors shall wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD at all times while on the water.
14. PROTESTS
Protests will be settled via an on the water Three Minute Justice system as outlined at the Skippers Meeting.
